How much should it be to hire a moving company?
Q. I am curious to know how much a moving company charges to move all my stuff from a 3rd story apartment with no elevator to a house roughly 5-10 miles away. I just want to know if it's worth it to pay someone so it wouldn't be so difficult to move. Thanks!

A. My mother-in-law just told me the other day how costly it was to move half way across the US. She has 2 bedrooms, a small kitchen and small living room. It was over $5000 for her but that included everything-they packed everything up for her, moved it hundreds of miles then unpacked and placed everything where she wanted at her new place. Since you aren't moving very far it would be safe to say it would be much less than my example but $1000 or more to do the whole thing-pretty reasonable. I used to work in retail. I got moved around a lot but did the work myself. I hated it but I'd hate spending thousands of $$$ even more for something I could easily do myself.
